Welcome to Iditarod's educational section of the website! We know that using Iditarod as a theme in your learning environment or classroom engages students in life long learning. Lessons that you prepare and facilitate with your students are aligned to the standards and the curriculum you teach. This unit of study is empowering for your learners. Help us learn more! We'd like to hear from you in order to better meet your needs and provide you with the lesson ideas and information most valuable to you.
What kinds of lessons are you looking for and how can we help you to do a better job of connecting content and cultural education? We know that most students track mushers during the race, but what other kinds of lessons and projects do you do? Besides the Internet, what other kinds of technology tools do you and your students use?
The Iditarod as a theme to connect learning is a global teaching adventure. Iditarod reaches classrooms around the world and is used in all grade levels. What is your location? Do you home school, teach in a private school, or do you teach in a public school? What grade or content area is your focus? Are you a 'rookie' to this theme or are you a veteran to using this theme with students?
Please help us know you and provide you with what you need. Send an email to: djohnson@iditarod.com. Be a part of the collaboration zone that brings the best curriculum to students around the world!
