Target Iditarod Teacher on the Trail™ Aurora Borealis

I just had an experience that rivals no other I've ever had in my life. An Iditarod Air Force pilot stopped by the school to say there was a glimmer of hope for an Aurora show. I threw on my boots and anorak, a hat on my wet hair and ran outside. As soon as I stepped out the door, tears came to my eyes as I saw the pictures come to life. No picture or video can do justice to standing underneath the Northern Lights as they wave, grow, shrink, shimmer, and "dance". I stood in the road and just watched excitedly pointing and saying things you would hear a child say at a circus..."Look!" "Over there!" "Wow!" "I can't believe it!" What a gift.
