Live Your Dream
Last week I was at Disneyland with my family. Disney is sponsoring a 15 month program called Year of a Million Dreams. Throughout the days, people unexpectedly win prizes as they enjoy Disneyland and Disney World. Early Tuesday morning, my husband and I were rounding the corner by Critter Country when a Disney cast member handed us each a free pair of ears! They were the special edition Million Dream ears - not available for purchase in the shops - cloud patterned felt adorned with metallic silver ears. I was beside myself; it wasn't so much the ears as it was the winning. I'm one of those people who always says, "I never win anything." Upon further inspection of my ears, I saw this logo on the back: Live Your Dream. The immediate comment I made to my family was that I was going to wear these ears to the Iditarod next spring because that is what it is all about - people living their dreams.
For the teens, it is the Junior Iditarod dream. For the adults, the full Iditarod. For the fans, the chance to attend the Iditarod and, perhaps, to volunteer for it. For teachers, the chance to attend an educator's conference in Alaska. For others, the dream of visiting Alaska at any time of the year.
Everyone has dreams, Iditarod related or not. Enjoy your dreams; I hope you can Live Your Dream as well.
