Iditarod Musher Profile

John Baker, 47, dog musher and commercial pilot, enjoys living and mushing dogs in Arctic Alaska. Baker began a kennel of sled dogs in 1992 and entered his first Iditarod Sled Dog Race in 1996. He has completed fourteen Iditarod races with ten finishes in the Top Ten and two in 3rd place. Baker lives in Kotzebue, Alaska, and his family includes wife, Iva, son, Alex, and daughter, Tahayla.
