Scott Smith
Willow, AK, USA

Scott Smith, 37, was born and raised in Maine. He attended the University of Maine and Unity College majoring in fisheries studies. He moved to Wyoming in 1994, where he first started mushing, and to Alaska in 2005 "to STAY in dogs and keep running the Iditarod." Presently he is a builder and a racer. Scott says he knew the first time he stepped on the runners that some day he wanted to do the Iditarod. He says, "This kennel is completely blue collar, without big sponsor money or a bloated attitude. These dogs are hard headed and hard working huskies. Their lineage includes that from Swingley, Barron, Claus, Butcher, King, Perrino, etc. Our goal is to keep at it, train hard and claw our way toward the front of the pack on a consistent basis. A member of Mush with P.R.I.D.E., Scott says his hobbies are travel and fly-fishing.
