2008 Iditarod Musher Profile

 <>Jason Barron, 36, was raised in an Iditarod family and says he can't remember a time without the Iditarod. His dad, Iditarod veteran, John Barron, ran his first Iditarod when Jason was seven years old. All three Barron boys ran the Jr. Iditarod and two, Laird and Jason have run the Iditarod. Jason and Harmony moved to Montana in April of 2000 and started their business, Team KanaBear. They specialize in high performance racing, but also contract as consultants for start up kennels around the country. He says, "our goal is to be the best competitive dog kennel in the industry - and we are well on our way." Jason and Harmony were married in Nome following their completion of the 2002 Iditarod. They are the parents of a baby girl, Oksana Cybelle Barron, born in August of 2007.
