Dan Kaduce, 40, was born in Wisconsin. He received his B.A. in Geography at the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and then moved to Alaska in 1990 for "work and fun." For the last seven years, he's been an operator and carpenter. He began mushing in 1995 and says he's watched the Iditarod for years and began thinking about running it in the last couple of years. He's had four top ten finishes in the Yukon Quest and received the Vet's Choice Award in 2003. He says, "Our team is a mixture of Interior Alaska sprint husky bloodlines from along the Tanana River. Although, some of our dogs are four generations deep in our yard, we have gotten dogs and/or breedings from Joee Redington and the Erhart and Taylor kennels." He is married to Jodi Bailey and says that in his spare time he enjoys hunting and fishing. Learn more at Dan’s website: http://www.dewclawkennel.com |
