ATTENTION:
Mushers who plan to run the 2009 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race

The entry fee for the 2009 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is $4,000. The Board of Directors made the decision April 25, 2008 to raise the entry fee as financial statements showed the cost of putting on the 2008 Race was $231,525 more than 2007. Most of you will remember that there was discussion last year of raising the entry to $4,000 for 2009 and possibly $5,000 the following year.

More information regarding entry in the 2009 Iditarod will be available after the May 30, 2008 board meeting.

Forms Required at Time of Entry

Many of the musher forms are dated. Dates are listed with the materials. Be sure to get your paperwork into the office well ahead of deadlines. Be sure to check this page often for new forms and information that you will need to know.

The forms on this list are required at the time of payment of entry fee in order to be considered an entrant.

Race Application Form

Must be completely filled out and signed to be valid.

Musher Release Form

Must be signed and notarized.

Anchorage Housing Form

Must be completed and returned even if you have your own arrangements for Anchorage housing.

Nome Housing Form

Must be completed and returned even if you have your own arrangements for Nome housing.

Sponsors, Banquet & Membership Forms (required)

Sponsor Forms

Print as many as you need and turn in as often as you need to. For inclusion in the Race Guide, we must have your sponsors turned in by December 15, 2007.

Banquet Ticket Form

Needs to be turned in as soon as possible but no later than January 1, 2008 for preferential seating.

Membership Form

Should be turned in as soon as possible to be sure your membership is updated.

Paperwork Regarding Dog Care & Dropped Dogs (required)

Dog Care Agreement

Must be turned in prior to food drop.

Local Contact

Both must be filled out by two different contacts. Due prior to food drop.

Veterinarian Letter

This needs to be signed by the veterinarian that does the pre-race veterinary checkup. Due by date of Official Pre-Race Veterinary Check.

Individual Dog Vet Check Form

Due by date of Official Pre-Race Veterinary Check. There are 20 copies needed.

Dog Microchip Identification Sheet

Questionnaire

We frequently get asked if mushers need booties or meat etc. This questionnaire puts you on the lists for your needs. Please return as soon as possible as we are already getting asked about mushers needing booties.
