Contest Rules and Eligibility

1. Enter to win a trip to the Start of the 2009 Iditarod by completing the form available online at www.iditarod.com and subscribing to receive more information from ITC. One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded to a randomly selected eligible entrant. The prize for which an entrant is eligible for entering through iditarod.com is a trip for two to Anchorage, Alaska. Prize package includes economy airfare to Anchorage from any city serviced by Alaska Airlines, 4 nights at the Millennium Hotel in Anchorage, tickets to the pre-race Mushers Banquet and special VIP credentials for special access on race day. No extensions permitted.

2. NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

3. The presenting administrator and sponsor of this Contest is the Iditarod Trail Committee, having an address of Mile 2.2 Knik-Goose Bay Road, Wasilla, Alaska 99654.

4. The Contest begins at 12:00:00 midnight ADT on October 14, 2008, (the "Start Date") and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ADT on December 31, 2008. (the "End Date").

5. The Contest is open only to persons who are 18 years of age or older, reside within the United States, and have a valid e-mail address as of the Start Date. Only one entry per person will be eligible to win.

6. By entering the Sweepstakes, participants consent to the use of their name, likeness, image and biographical data for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation. BECAUSE ITC COLLECTS PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM PARTICIPANTS ENTERING THE SWEEPSTAKES, ITC ENCOURAGES ALL PARTICIPANTS TO REVIEW ITS PRIVACY POLICY, WHICH CAN BE VIEWED AT WWW.IDITAROD.COM. Information collected during the Contest may be shared with any sponsor of the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race.

7. The winner will be randomly selected by ITC from among all eligible entries on or around January 2, 2009. Attempts to notify the winner will be made only by e-mail to the e-mail address submitted with the winning entry. Notification will occur within two (2) days of the end of the Contest. ITC is not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures or delivery problems of any kind. If unable to make contact with the winner within ten (10) days after ITC first attempts to notify the winner, or if the winner fails to claim the Prize within ten (10) days after ITC first attempts to notify the winner, the Prize may be forfeited in the discretion of Contest Judges and may be awarded to an alternate winner.

8. Chances of winning are determined by the total number of eligible entries received. Prize may not be transferred. No substitutions for the prizes are allowed.

9. In the event a winning entry is discovered by ITC to be invalid for any reason whatsoever, or the person who submitted the winning entry fails to comply with these Official Rules prior to delivery of the prize as determined by ITC, the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.

10. ITC is not responsible for telecommunications, network, electronic, technical or computer failures of any kind, including any which may affect your entry or the Sweepstakes. ITC is not responsible for lost, stolen, misdirected, mutilated, late or illegible entries. Entries that are generated by a script, macro, or other automated means are prohibited and such entries and/or those otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules are disqualified. All entries received by mail or facsimile are disqualified. ITC shall have the absolute right to determine in its sole discretion if an entry is in full compliance with these Official Rules without notice to the person attempting to enter.

11. Employees and agents of ITC and/or consultants to ITC, including their family members (parents, children, siblings, and/or spouse) and members of their household (whether or not related), are not eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes.

12. If by reason of a printing or other error, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in these Official Rules, all persons making purportedly valid claims will be included in a computerized random selection to award the advertised number of prizes available. No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded.

13. WINNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPORTING AND PAYING ANY AND ALL INCOME, SALES OR EXCISE TAXES THAT MAY APPLY; ITC IS NOT LIABLE FOR AND WILL NOT PAY ANY SUCH TAXES AS MAY BE IMPOSED.

14. ITC reserves the right to terminate the Contest or modify any rules as necessary for any reason or as required by applicable law. ITC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify from the Contest, and/or ban from any future sweepstakes or contest, any person it believes to have intentionally violated these Official Rules or tampered with any element of the contest without notice to the disqualified and/or banned entrant.

15. This contest is conducted in Alaska. The construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrant and ITC in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed exclusively in accordance with the laws of the State of Alaska. By entering the Contest, entrants agree that any legal action resulting from this Contest shall be brought only in a court of competent jurisdiction located in the Third Judicial District of Alaska.
